The KEYS of Scoliosis Management in the Pilates Apparatus Environment

Pilates Chair based treatment of Scoliosis, focusing on Motor Control and Recruitment

Introduction

The condition of scoliosis benefits from the use of ‘keys’ to help unlock the functional patterns of scoliosis within the Pilates environment. These ‘keys’ are the switches that turn on little –used musculature that is often difficult to access without the use of assistive equipment. The bodily heat generated through the repetitive motion of the ‘keys’ promotes fascial glide and alterations. Learn apparatus specific exercises targeted to the cervical key, thoracic key, the waist key, the lumbar key, and the pelvic key to facilitate non-recruiting musculature and promote fascial balancing.

This is a basic to intermediate course.
