Jess is the one member of our faculty who can't wait to take exams.   In fact she has been known to remind us that we are late for the exam !

Jess holds a First Class honours degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Bradford and also a degree in Physiotherapy (University of Nottingham) - specialising in Spinal Rehab, Clinical Reasoning, Sports Medicine & Sports Injuries.

In addition to teaching Courses for Mbodies Training Academy and being mother to two children Jess runs a private Physiotherapy and Sports injuries business alongside a Personal Training Fitness, Pilates and Group Exercise business and still finds time to fit in 2 shifts a week in a GP surgery managing an NHS caseload and referring-on where appropriate.

Jess has qualified as an (AACP), ALIED Acupuncture specialist and in addition is interested in other external release techniques such as Myofascial Release. She is also qualified through Premier Training as a remedial Sports Massage therapist at Level 3.  CPD training includes a Muscle Energy and Soft Tissue course for the cervical spine and upper thoracic.

Jess is qualified both as a Level 3 Fitness Instructor and a Level 3 Pilates Instructor and has experience teaching Group exerciise. She specialises in teaching matwork based Pilates, holding a national Qualification at Level 3 in Pilates Matwork through Modern Pilates.

Jess is particularly interested in Functional Pilates and teaches a lot of standing and rotational work with functional applications combining this Pilates practice with her medical experience  as a band 5 Physiotherapist at Grimsby Hospital where she worked as part of the Community 'Falls' Team and the Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Rehabilitation Program.

Outside of work Jess is a serious runner and regularly competes to a high standard and has been spotted well ahead of any of our other faculty members at the Lincoln 10k, Nottingham half marathon, Great North Run and London Marathon.

Jess is also a Gym 'Bunnie' and can be found regularly attending as well as teaching body pump, spinning, Pilates and circuit classes on a regular basis.

When asked if she has any time in her life for anything else she explains that Chris, her husband, enjoys his time with the children while she loves travelling  to experience different ways of life and has  visited 12 countries in Africa as well as Thailand, China and Australia.  We wondered if she flew to these countries or ran and rowed and whilst Jess disappointingly advised that she did fly she added that for some light exercise she climbed Kilimanjaro during one of her visits to Africa.
