Jane qualified as a Chartered physiotherapist and spent 28 years working in the NHS the last 20 years of which she worked as clinical specialist in neurology at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield. In her last 10 years in the NHS Jane spent as clinical lead for neurology managing a multi disciplinary team of physios, Occupational therapists and specialist nurses who itreached into the community.

In 2004 Jane moved to the Multiple Sclerosis Society as their national programme lead for Physiotherapy working nationally supporting service development and research. Jane developed a Get Active Programme for people with MS working with fitness instructors and therapists and developed a training programme for Level 3 and 4 Fitness instructors.

Jane wrote the MS and Parkinson's module for Oxford Brookes University for their post graduate qualification and has had research published on developing exercise interventions for people with MS with Sheffield Hallam University along with several published articles on the theme of getting Active with a neurological condition.  Also. Jane is on the service development group at the MS Trust working with Therapists in MS and has recently been involved in the development of competencies for therapists in managing neurological conditions.
