Description

Freeland Hall is a modern Village Hall in the village of Freeland. It is situated in the centre of the Village opposite the Yeoman Public House on Wroslyn Road.

With its heated beech floor, acoustic ceiling and wooden glulam beams it is a great venue for all of Mbodies training events.  with thoughts of social distancing and air circulation it is a perfect venue benefitting from opening doors and windows on its long sides as well as in the ceiling eaves.

It has a modern well-equipped kitchen in stainless steel,  and cloakrooms with facilities for the disabled. 

Outside there is parking for approximately 36 cars with disabled spaces situated near the entrance.

At the front of the Hall is a landscaped garden with several bench seats and to the rear is an enclosed landscaped garden with large paved patio area with an attractive outlook over the village playing field.

Directions – by car

Freeland sits midway between Oxford and Witney and has a central high street (Wroslyn Rd) which extends to become Cuckoo lane which meets the A40 a mile and a half to the south at Eynsham and the A4095 half a mile to the North at Long Hanborough.

Freeland is signposted on the A40 at Eynsham with a dedicated lane to turn right on the A40 when travelling West from the direction of Oxford.
Once again there is a dedicated turn lane on the A4095 when travelling East from Witney having left North Leigh village and just before the village of Long Hanborough

Directions – by public transport

Freeland does NOT have its own bus service.  

There is however a regular bus service down the A4095 from Burford and Witney to Woodstock -  leaving a half mile walk tot he hall.Eynsham is well connected by Busses between Withey and Oxford -  however there is no footpath on Cuckoo lane and cars travel at speed.

Hanborough Railway station is on the Paddington to Hereford train line with regular trains.   Hanborough station is a 2.5 mile walk from Freeland village hall with footpaths all the way

Mbodies will support those travelling by public transport - arranging a lift or taxi from Hanborough Station, Witney or Eynsham by arrangement
